A téma rövid leírása, a kidolgozandó feladat részletezése:
A balatoni magaspartok a Balaton keleti medencéjében található különleges földtani képződmények.
Ezen munka célja a lejtőállékonyság számításhoz szükséges bemenő adatok (lejtőmorfológia, lejtőt alkotó képződmények fizikai paramétereinek meghatározása) meghatározása. Ezt követően a lejtők állékonyságát a klasszikus számítási módszerek mellett végeselemes szoftverekkel is elemzi a pályázó. A tanszéken rendelkezésre álló szoftverek közül a Geo5, a RocScience és Plaxis szoftvercsomagok segítségével alkotott modellek készülnek el. A kapott eredményeket összeveti a pályázó a területről rendelkezésre álló mozgási adatsorokkal (inklinométeres adatok) és ezek alapján egy mozgás mechanizmus és csúszólap geometria megadható. Végső cél a mozgások előre jelzése a mérések során kapott monitoring adatok alapján. A kutatás kapcsolódik a kar kiemelt kutatási témájához (FIKP-VÍZ) azon belül is a földtani veszélyértékeléses altémához (VÍZ-08 téma).

High embankments are special geological formations that are common in the eastern basin of Lake Balaton. These geological features require special attention, since their slopes are very often unstable and prone to landslides. The slopes are unstable, since significant landslides damaged railway lines last century (1914) and additional movements took place in recent years (in 2010’s) lead to blocking of roads and railway lines.
The proposed research deals with the detailed analyses of high banks at Lake Balaton focusing on landslide processes and prediction. The main aim is to clarify the damage mechanisms of slopes and outline the trigger mechanisms of slope failures. The main study area is at Balatonakarattya, but comparative analyses of other high banks is also planned. The methods include field documentation of morphological elements and signs of landslide. Sampling and laboratory analyses of samples at the accredited laboratory of the department is also part of the research. Archive data of former core drillings and engineering geological surveys will be also analysed. All these studies provide input data for the computer modelling of slopes, slope stability analyses. The computing will be made with the Geo5, RocScience and Plaxis software that are available at the host department. The obtained modelling results will be compared with the available field data of displacements (inclinometers in wells). The expected outcome of this research is the clarification of sliding mechanism, the localisation of slip surface(s) and the description of slip surface geometries. The final goal is the forecasting of landslides based on monitoring parameters and sliding mechanisms. The proposed topic is closely linked to the ‘Water Sciences & Disaster Prevention’ research area of the host university.
